Dance therapy
What is dance therapy?
Dance therapy is a form of psychotherapy that was developed in the USA by pioneers of expressive dance.
In the 1980s, it got to Germany and since then has been practiced in psychosomatic clinics, various educational or therapeutic institutions, as well as independently on a self-pay basis.
In dance therapy feelings, thoughts and hereby the entire inner experience of a person can be expressed through improvised movements.
What does a typical dance therapy session look like?

In a dance therapy setting, you have the opportunity to experience everything that is currently on your mind in a holistic way.
You have the space and time to feel what you are actually suppressing. You can experience, understand, and better integrate everything that is truly happening inside of you.
In a dance therapy session, we will work together to find out what your current issue is and how you experience it through your thoughts, feelings, and body.
I will provide you with the space to experience this in an individual or group setting.

My approach
I work from both a depth-psychological-analytical and a humanistic perspective, which means: your life story can play a role in the therapy, but it doesn't have to, because I work in the moment, with what is important to you right now.
We will therefore not dig 'unnecessarily' into the past unless this review is a key to a better understanding of yourself and your current situation.
